The new AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine

Powerful, innovative and efficient.
Fuel consumption combined: 9.6-9.3 l/100 km;
combined CO₂ emissions: 224-216 g/km

Biturbocharging with “hot inside V“
The powerful V8 engines have long been a core competence at AMG, the performance brand of Mercedes-Benz. Christian Enderle, Head of Engine and Powertrain Development at Mercedes-AMG: “With the new AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, we present a fascinating and powerful sports car engine, which also achieves the next step in efficiency due to numerous measures“.
The new AMG V8 engine has two turbochargers which are not mounted on the outside of the cylinder banks but rather inside the V configuration – experts call it a “hot inside V“.

Advantages
The advantages of this layout: the eight-cylinder engine has more compact dimensions, which allow the low installation position as well as optimum weight distribution between the front and rear axles. The “hot inside V“ also optimises the supply of fresh air to both exhaust gas turbochargers. Electronically-regulated blow-off valves guarantee a very immediate and direct response. The maximum charge pressure is 1.2 bar and the turbochargers can reach a maximum speed of 186,000 rpm. For combustion 2.3 times as many oxygen atoms are pressed into the turbo engine than a naturally aspirated engine.

Dry sump lubrication for high lateral acceleration
The dry sump lubrication allows the engine to be installed in a low position with a lower centre of gravity – ideal for a sports car with extremely high lateral dynamics. As well as the enhanced agility, dry sump lubrication ensures optimum lubrication of the engine through direct oil extraction from the crankcases, even at high cornering speeds.
As a result the M178 (the internal AMG designation) is the world's first sports car engine with hot inner V and dry sump lubrication. The new AMG V8 with a dry weight of 209 kilogram is the lightest engine in its competitive segment.

Performance figures on a par with motor racing
As the newest member of the BlueDIRECT engine family, the AMG M178 boasts a confident power delivery and performance figures on a par with motor racing. It boasts an emotive and unmistakable AMG V8 engine sound, along with an immediate response and high pulling power.
The torque curve is synonymous with good drivability: the maximum value of 650 nanometer is on hand in a wide range from 1,750 to 4,750 révolutions

“One man, one engine“
The AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine is made in Affalterbach in accordance with the principle of “one man, one engine“. In the AMG engine workshop, highly qualified technicians manufacture the high-performance engines by hand to the strictest quality standards.
The signature of the respective technician on the AMG engine plate attests to this exclusive type of engine production. It guarantees quality and the transfer of technology from the racing series - from Formula 1 and the DTM to the customer sport activities with the SLS AMG GT3

Team Peugeot-Total 2008 DKR

720 hp strong G-POWER M3 GT2 R

The Tuning World Bodensee is a must-attend for every BMW enthusiast who is into customizing. It goes without saying that there will be a G-POWER highlight, as well. Thus G-POWER presents, in cooperation with the car magazine “AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS”, the hottest road-legal BMW M3.
Already the basic data of this car – 720 hp and a dry weight of less than 1.500 kg – leave no doubt about the fact that the GT2 R called BMW M3 prepared by G-POWER is a serious competitor to all these Porsche and Co. racing against each other in countless Clubsport-Events.
G-POWER has enlarged the displacement of the BMW V8 S65 engine from 4.0l to 4.6l – incl. forged pistons and connecting rods – thus creating the basis for an additional power output enhancement by the G-POWER M3 V8 SK III supercharger system. The result of this proven combination is 720 hp and 700 Nm of torque.
At the same time, G-POWER also gets to work on the flab, placing the BMW M3 on a strict weight loss regime. This is where the G-POWER GT2 R comes into its own, with a full carbon body kit bearing the awesome GT2 R design. The front skirt, all four wings and the rear skirt are all replaced by ultra-lightweight carbon elements. A carbon front lip and the multi-part carbon rear spoiler also improve aerodynamic down force.
Overall, the G-POWER weight loss program for the M3 GT2 R adds up to around 150 kg, bringing the dry weight down to less than 1,500 kg. It goes without saying that the supercharged 720 horses take this in their stride. The GT2 R handles the dash from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and from 0-200 km in 9.5 seconds. The top speed is more than 330 km/h.

Nissan GT-R Nismo Overview - Flagship of the Nismo lineup

1. Mechanical Features
Nissan GT-R Nismo employs innovation, uncompromising engineering and motorsports-inspired technologies to achieve new levels of power, speed and handling.

Engine
•Under the hood, the 3.8-liter V6 VR38DETT engine benefits from the know-how that Nismo has gained from participating in such events as the world-renowned Nürburgring 24 hour race. Engine power has risen and is now rated at 600PS (441kw) and 481 lb ft (652 Nm)  of torque.
•New high-flow, large capacity turbochargers, which are used for GT3 racing, improve breathing, while optimized individual ignition timing control for each cylinder and upgraded fuel pump improve combustion.

Chassis
•The springs and custom-developed Bilstein DampTronic dampers in the front and rear suspension are specially tuned to deliver exceptional grip levels and progressive handling response at the limit. Three suspension modes can be selected: Comfort, Normal and R, for circuit applications.
•Exclusive Nismo tires – developed by Dunlop - exhibit outstanding grip and handling characteristics. Front: 255/40 ZRF20; rear 285/35 ZRF20.
•Specially-developed links fitted to the front double wishbone suspension increase castor trail to optimize wheel position during high-G cornering and improve straight-line and cornering stability. Additionally, large high-rigidity bolts are used to increase stiffness of the wheel-hub attachment area.
•To minimize body-roll during cornering and changes of direction, the Nissan GT-R Nismo features a 17.3 mm hollow rear anti-roll bar which raises roll stiffness while reducing weight.

Body construction
•Increased rigidity in the bodyshell is achieved using adhesive bonding in addition to spot welding leading to precise suspension response under extreme load, the  Nismo "factory tuned" enhancement.

2. Exterior design - Exclusive styling with improved aerodynamics
•Using the latest Computational Fluid Dynamic simulation techniques to analyze airflow, Nismo has developed an aero package that improves road-holding, minimizes the negative impact of drag, while giving the car a menacing and muscular appearance.
•Together, the front bumper, engine undercover strake and carbon rear spoiler increase downforce, lowering the center of gravity and generating an additional 100kg*1 (at 300km/h) compared to the freshly updated 2014 Nissan GT-R model. The car's aerodynamic characteristics are tuned to ensure the downforce is equally spread front to rear at all speeds for progressive handling characteristics. A widened front bumper configuration and elongated yet tapered rear bumper design keep the drag to Cd 0.26, same with that of 2014 Nissan GT-R.
•The Nissan GT-R Nismo will be available in five body colors: Brilliant White Pearl, Meteor Flake Pearl Black, Ultimate Metallic Silver and Vibrant Red. And unique to the GT-R Nismo model, a Dark Matte Grey*3 accentuates the car's imposing exterior muscularity.
•The GT-R Nismo's black 6-spoke wheels are inspired by Nissan's GT-R race car which races in the GT500 class in SUPER GT.
